okay, the two of you who had good hospital food, where do you live?
like the line about the food is incentive to get out!
French is also good as they said I was real anemic.
oh, and I was home for Oscars, phew

I am so sorry about your bad experience with the food! I am in the same boat with Molly, the hospital I delivered my daughter in had FANTASTIC food! I am looking forward to delivering this baby (aside from wanting to meet the baby) so that I can have that food again lol.

I think it is amazing you get a menu to choose stuff from. Up here in publicly funded healthcare land you are lucky if you get fed at all (I didn't with one delivery - no supper, and my husband got me take-out for breakfast because they forgot me again), and if you are fed, there is no choice. With my other delivery one meal was liver and onions. Seriously. Wowie mauie chicken or whatever sounds pretty good compared to that, huh?

Oh my gosh, I'm sorry your experience with hospital food was so bad. Interestingly enough, the food at the hospital where I delivered at was so amazingly delicious, I wanted to stay longer. In fact, I begged my Dr. to let me stay past my 2:00 discharge so I could stay for my dinner tray!! Crazy huh? They had these amazing carved, slow roasted turkey breast sandwiches on crusty baguettes of bread! (and the cafe lattes were amazing)

true story:)
Congratualtions, you look fab!
-Molly

Did you have to watch the Oscars in your hospital room?? Hope they at least had high-def!

AMEN!! I have never been so hungry as after giving birth and that food is terrible!! Hubby brought me the biggest smoothie he could find. It took me an hour to drink it but it was the greatest thing I have ever tasted!

When my mom had my youngest brother in '92, they gave her a nice steak dinner on her last night there. All I got was some bland spaghetti & cold green beans.

Amen sister. Imagine being a trained chef and then stuck in the the hospital for 3 weeks and then a month later back for 3 months.

I pulled a hunger strike on the first time around and would only eat food my husband would bring me. During the second stay, up to the point where I was bedridden, I actually convinced the staff to let me bring my own fridge and COOKED my own food prepared from my own ingredients :-)

The only purpose hospital food serves is to give you incentive to leave.

At the hospital where Amy was delivered, we had been told in advance about how amazing their catering was (by staff and by our surrogate, who had delivered there previously). So, it was quite the shock when, the weekend of her delivery, they had closed the kitchen for remodeling and all that was at our disposal was frozen/reheated stuff -- and they had wacky hours so we kept missing meals. Bummer.

Houston's would have been a nice alternative! I'm kinda craving it now...
